Privacy Policy
VidMuse
Last updated: May 1, 2026
VidMuse (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and disclosed when you use our mobile application and any related services we operate (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What the Service does
VidMuse lets you create, play, and manage AI-assisted music and related content. Current features include:
- AI Song Generation from text prompts, with style, mood, genre, vocal-gender, and instrumental controls.
- AI Lyrics Writer for generating and editing lyrics.
- AI Voice Covers in preset celebrity voices, or in a custom voice you train from short phrase recordings.
- Remix & Mashup tools for re-imagining your songs.
- AI Video creation for stylized music videos (sold as a separate add-on).
- Playback, library, playlists, song feedback (👍 / 👎), share & export features.
- Notifications (when permitted) and an in-app notification history.
Some features require an internet connection and send your inputs to our backend so that specialized third-party AI and audio providers can process them.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Creative inputs: Text you enter (such as prompts, lyrics, style descriptions, titles) and choices you make in the app (genres, moods, instruments, video scenes, voice settings, etc.).
- Voice recordings: If you use features that record audio (for example AI cover or custom voice flows), audio from your device microphone is captured when you choose to record. That audio may be sent to our backend and to specialized voice-processing providers to generate the requested output and, for custom voices, to train a personal voice model linked to your device.
- Per-song feedback: When you mark a song with 👍 / 👎, that rating is stored locally with the song record on your device.
- Profile information (optional, local): You may set a display name, bio, and profile image from your photo library. Display name and bio are stored on your device. A profile image you select is stored locally (for example as a file path reference). We do not require an account or email to use core features.
- Support communications: If you contact us, we receive whatever information you send (for example email address and message content).
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and app data: Such as device type, operating system, app version, language, and general usage information needed to run and improve the app.
- Identifiers used for app functionality: We use a stable identifier stored in the device Keychain (and may sync limited entitlement or usage-related values via Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Storage where enabled) to enforce free-tier limits, subscription state, and similar app rules. This is not used to advertise to you across other companies’ apps or websites unless you separately opt in to tracking where Apple requires it.
- Analytics events: We use industry-standard analytics services to log events such as app launches, navigation, generation start/complete/fail (including non-sensitive metadata like style labels), paywall views, and purchase completion. These events help us understand product usage and reliability.
- Remote configuration: We use remote configuration services to deliver feature flags, limits, and links (for example policy URLs) without requiring an app update.
- Push notifications: If you grant permission, we may use cloud messaging services to deliver notifications. A local notification history (limited number of recent entries) is stored on your device so you can review past notifications. You can turn off notifications in your device settings.
- Network status: The app may check connectivity to show offline states and avoid failed requests.
- Diagnostics: Error descriptions or technical context may be included in analytics events to help fix bugs.
2.3 Information processed on our servers
When you request AI generation, lyrics, covers, extensions, AI video, or similar features, relevant inputs (for example prompts, lyrics, parameters, scene choices, and when applicable audio you uploaded or recorded) are transmitted over HTTPS to our backend (API proxy). Our backend forwards requests to specialized third-party AI and audio processing providers for the following purposes:
- AI Music Generation — Receives: text prompts, genre, mood, lyrics, vocal preferences, instrument choices, tempo, duration, and style settings.
- AI Lyrics Generation — Receives: topic, style, structure preferences, rhyme scheme, and language.
- AI Voice Covers (preset voices) — Receives: a song or audio you choose as the source, the selected preset voice, and audio processing parameters; returns a voice-converted cover preserving the original instrumentation.
- AI Voice Model Training (custom voice) — Receives: short voice phrases you record and a voice name; trains a personal voice model whose reference is linked to your device for future cover generations.
- AI Voice Covers (custom voices) — Receives: the trained custom voice reference plus the source song, and produces a cover in your custom voice.
- Quick Voice Clone (legacy 30-second flow) — Where offered, a short voice sample may be sent to a voice-cloning provider for one-time playback effects; this is separate from the trainable custom-voice flow above.
- AI Video Generation — Receives: the song or audio, scene/background selections, and styling parameters; returns a generated music video file.
These providers process data under contractual safeguards and in accordance with applicable law. We vet our providers for security and privacy compliance. Outputs (for example generated audio, video, or metadata) are returned to the app.
2.4 AI Data Consent
Before your data is first sent to any AI service, the app asks for your explicit consent. The consent dialog identifies what data is sent and how it is processed. You can review or revoke this consent at any time in the app's Settings under "AI Data Processing." If you revoke consent, the app will ask again before any AI features are used.
2.5 Custom voices & consent of the speaker
If you train a custom voice model, you confirm that the voice you record is your own, or that you have explicit permission from the person whose voice is being recorded. Do not record or upload another person's voice without their consent. We may suspend custom-voice features for accounts associated with abuse or misuse of voice cloning.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service (including generation, playback, playlists, and optional features).
- Enforce generation limits, subscription entitlements, and abuse prevention tied to your device.
- Process in-app purchases through Apple’s App Store (Apple handles payment card and billing details; we receive subscription status through Apple’s APIs as needed to unlock features).
- Send optional push notifications you have allowed.
- Analyze aggregated or de-identified usage via analytics services to improve stability and product design.
- Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and protect our rights and users.
4. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Contract / steps prior to contract: Providing the Service you request (for example running a generation job).
- Legitimate interests: Securing the Service, debugging, analytics that do not override your rights, and improving the product (where applicable).
- Consent: Where required (for example push notifications, or App Tracking Transparency if we ever use the advertising identifier for cross-app tracking—currently we describe analytics as configured above).
- Legal obligation: Where we must retain or disclose information by law.
5. Sharing of information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who assist us in operating the Service, including providers of analytics, cloud infrastructure, push notifications, and specialized AI and audio processing. They process data on our instructions and under contractual safeguards where appropriate.
- Apple for in-app purchases and related receipt validation.
- Authorities if required by law or to protect safety and rights.
We do not sell your personal information as that term is commonly defined under U.S. state privacy laws.
6. International transfers
We and our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.
7. Retention
- On-device data (songs, playlists, profile fields, etc.) remains until you delete the app or delete items inside the app, subject to how SwiftData/local storage behaves on your device.
- Server-side processing: Content you submit for generation may be retained for a period needed to complete the job, troubleshoot, comply with law, and improve security. Exact retention depends on our infrastructure and provider policies; contact us for deletion requests where applicable.
- Analytics: Retained according to our analytics provider’s standard policies.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures such as HTTPS for network traffic and secure storage where appropriate (for example Keychain for sensitive device state). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, or to data portability. You may:
- Disable push notifications in iOS Settings.
- Limit analytics or ad tracking through your device privacy settings (and App Tracking Transparency if applicable).
- Delete the app to remove locally stored data (export anything you need first).
To exercise privacy rights or ask questions, contact us at techhunt.bridge@gmail.com.
10. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
11. AI-generated content disclaimer
Outputs from AI features may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or incomplete. They are for creative and entertainment purposes only and are not professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise). You are responsible for how you use and share generated content.
12. Third-party links
The Service may link to websites or services we do not control. Their practices are governed by their own policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide notice as required by law (for example in-app or by email).
